Japan's Oldest Single Malt
The Yamazaki 55 Year was distilled in the 1960s and allowed to mature undisturbed for over five decades in a combination of American white oak, Spanish sherry and Japanese Mizunara oak casks. Only 100 bottles were ever produced for the global market.
Tasting Notes
Those privileged to taste the 55 Year describe an overwhelming complexity — layers of sandalwood incense from Mizunara oak, Kyoto cherry blossom, ancient dried rose petals, rich dried tropical fruits and a palate that evolves continuously for up to two hours. Nothing else in the whisky world compares.
